About QuiltTally

Connect borders, backing and binding in one saved project. See seam diagrams and a separate-fabric shopping list before you cut.

A method you can inspect

A 4-inch border creates a 56 × 68-inch finished quilt. Four inches backing overhang gives a 64 × 76-inch target. At 42 inches usable backing width and ½-inch seam allowance per edge, the vertical plan needs two 76-inch cuts: 4.22 yards before extras. A 10% allowance rounded to quarter yards becomes 4.75 yards. The border uses six 4½-inch strips; binding uses seven 2½-inch strips under the default joining rules.

Useful first, lightweight by design

There is no account to create. Tool calculations run on your device, and your entries are not uploaded to a calculation service. The pages use locally hosted fonts and simple diagrams. Printable outputs leave out navigation and advertising.

What to check

Separate fabric quantities. Extra allowance is applied before rounding. Pattern matching and quilter requirements need their own check.

Corrections and feedback

Each tool explains its assumptions alongside the result. If something does not match a worked example, use the contact form with the page name and a non-sensitive description of the problem. Check important dimensions and quantities independently before using them.

How the site is supported

Advertising may help support these free tools when enabled. Ad placements are labelled and separated from tool controls. Advertisements are not endorsements and do not appear on the printable output. Optional analytics, when enabled, measures visits only after your choice; it does not include your tool entries.
